I am Rose Davidson, Story Curator, Voice and Story Mentor, and founder of The Impactful Voice Project™.

My work has always been about voice, dignity, lived experience, and impact. I help people turn the stories they have carried, survived, learned from, or grown through into something that brings clarity, confidence, connection, and meaning.

But before I became known as an award-winning indie podcast host, mentor, creator of the OPAL System© and SHINE Formula©, and founder of a social enterprise storytelling movement, I was simply someone trying to find my own voice.

This is the story behind the work.

I did not arrive at this work by accident

My life has not followed a neat or easy path.

Like many people with lived experience, I know what it means to feel unheard, unseen, and uncertain of where I belong. I know what it is to carry pain quietly. I know what it is to survive seasons of life that change the way you see yourself, other people, and the world around you.

For a long time, I did not fully understand that my sensitivity, empathy, and ability to see beneath the surface were gifts. I only knew that I felt things deeply. I noticed what others missed. I heard the story underneath the words.

Over time, I came to understand that this was not weakness.

It was the beginning of my work.

The woman behind the voice

Professional portrait of Rose Davidson, Story Curator and founder of The Impactful Voice Project, representing voice, lived experience, and meaningful impact.

For much of my life, I searched for belonging.

I wanted to feel accepted, valued, and understood. I often gave too much, tried too hard, and carried more than I should have. Looking back, I can see how those early patterns shaped me. They also gave me a deep understanding of loneliness, silence, self-doubt, and the longing to be seen for who I truly am.

That understanding now sits at the heart of everything I do.

I do not work with stories as content.

I work with stories as lived experience.

I know that behind every personal story is a person

who deserves care, choice, dignity, and respect. That is why my approach to storytelling is grounded in safety, permission, and purpose.

A story should never be extracted from someone.

It should be held with care.

From podcasting to purpose

In 2020, I launched Talking with the Experts, an indie business podcast that became a globally ranked show with hundreds of episodes and guests from around the world.

Through that podcast, I discovered something powerful.

People do not simply want to be interviewed. They want to be heard. They want to make sense of what they know. They want their work, wisdom, and lived experience to mean something to someone else.

As the podcast grew, so did my understanding of my own purpose.

I was not only a podcast host.

I was a listener, guide, mentor, and curator of voice.

That work led me to create the OPAL System©, which helps people organise, produce, arrange, and launch their podcast with clarity and confidence. Later, I created the SHINE Formula© to help people speak with greater impact through stories that stick, hooks that capture, insights that illuminate, natural flow and energy, and engagement and connection.

But even then, I knew my work was becoming bigger than podcasting.

It was becoming about story.

What I learned through podcasting

People need safe spaces to be heard

A microphone can capture a voice, but trust is what allows the real story to emerge.

Lived experience carries wisdom

The lessons people learn through life often hold value for someone else walking a similar path.

Story creates connection

When shared with care, a story can help someone feel less alone, more hopeful, and more understood.

Why I founded The Impactful Voice Project™

The Impactful Voice Project™ was born from a simple but powerful truth:

Stories can help people feel less alone.

I founded The Impactful Voice Project™ as a social enterprise, storytelling movement for people with lived experience, survivors, changemakers, advocates, quiet leaders, and everyday people whose stories deserve to be held with dignity.

It is a curated, innovative, rare, and high-quality space for stories that heal, connect, educate, and create change.

This project began because I wanted to offer others what I once needed myself: a safe place to share stories and be seen.

I know that not everyone is ready to share publicly. I know that story-sharing can feel vulnerable. I know that lived experience is personal, tender, and sometimes difficult to put into words.

That is why The Impactful Voice Project™ is not about pressure.

It is about permission.

It is about giving people a choice.

It is about helping someone understand that their story, shared in the right way and at the right time, may become a light for someone else.

What I stand for now

My work is shaped by the life I have lived, the people I have listened to, and the stories I believe deserve to be treated with care.

N

Truth told with care

I believe truth matters, but so does the way we hold it. A story should never be rushed, forced, or polished until the person disappears from it.

N

Voice used with purpose

Voice is not about being the loudest person in the room. It is about knowing what you stand for and using your experience to create meaning, connection, and impact.

N

Stories shaped to create real impact

A story can educate, comfort, challenge, inspire, and change the way someone sees themselves. That kind of impact deserves intention.

N

Lived experience as earned wisdom

I believe lived experience is not something to hide. When shaped with care, it becomes insight, authority, and a bridge to others.

I am learning to claim my place

For many years, I was comfortable standing behind other people’s stories.

I could promote others. Support others. Interview others. Encourage others. Build platforms for others.

But now I understand something important.

I am not separate from the work.

My life, my values, my lived experience, my judgment, my care, and my voice are part of what makes this work meaningful.

That is why I am learning to claim my place more clearly.

I created this work.

I built these platforms.

I founded this movement.

I stand for voice, dignity, lived experience, safe storytelling, and impact.

This is not about ego. It is about ownership. It is about no longer shrinking to make others comfortable. It is about living freedom, not just as an idea, but as an identity.

Who I help

Today, I help people who know their story matters, even if they are not sure how to share it yet.

Coaches and entrepreneurs

I help coaches, entrepreneurs, and purpose-driven professionals turn their lived experience into a clear message that builds visibility, trust, and meaningful connection.

Lived-experience leaders

I support people who want to use what they have lived through to educate, advocate, inspire, or help others feel less alone.

Story contributors and changemakers

Through The Impactful Voice Project™, I curate stories from people who want to share with care, dignity, and purpose.

My work today

My work now sits at the intersection of voice, story, lived experience, advocacy, mentoring, and impact.

Through my writing, mentoring, podcasting background, workshops, and The Impactful Voice Project™, I help people understand the value of their story and shape it in a way that feels clear, safe, and purposeful.

I am not here to turn people into performers.

I am here to help them recognise the meaning in what they have lived, the wisdom in what they have learned, and the impact their voice can have when it is used with care.

“I stand for truth told with care, voice used with purpose, and stories shaped to create real impact.”

Rose Davidson

Story Curator

This is the work I was always moving toward

When I look back, I can see the thread.

The girl who longed to be heard became the woman who listens deeply.

The woman who often felt unseen became someone who sees the stories others carry.

The survivor of silence became a curator of voice.

My story is still unfolding. I am still learning, healing, claiming, and becoming. But I now understand that the life I have lived has shaped the work I am here to do.

I help people turn lived experience into impact through voice, story, dignity, and care.

That is my work.

That is my purpose.

That is the movement I am building.
